Discover Dinosaurs, Nature, Puppetry and Circus Skills At Stockwood Discovery Centre this summer.

Thursday 26th July – Sunday 19th August

Get ready to take a journey of discovery this summer at Stockwood Discovery Centre as Little Stock presents a summer of learning! Little Stock is a brand new immersive experience of exploration that will give parents and children aged 3-8 years the opportunity to play with Dinosaurs, build puppets, join the circus and get up close and personal with creepy crawlies!

Join Luton Culture and a host of special guests for a new journey of discovery every week that includes live shows, unique performances, arts and crafts workshops, activities and whole lot more fun.

Kicking off with Discover Dinosaurs on Thursday 26th July to Sunday 29th July sit down with energetic professional story-teller Mike Dodsworth for enthralling stone-aged stories, followed by dinosaur arts and crafts and a lively and interactive dinosaur show from ground-breaking fantasy theatre company Los Kaos.

See a spellbinding, interactive puppetry performance from a pair of wonderful wanderers, followed by a fireside tale from Grandad and puppet-making fun during Thursday 2nd August to Sunday 5th August.

Then join Professor Strange for his unique magic show, make juggling balls and then use them in a jam-packed circus skills workshop from Thursday 9th to Sunday 12th August.

The last week of the action-packed series of events you can join a bug-tastic adventure to learn all about insects and how important they are to our planet, including a bug-safari, crafty beaded bugs workshop and creature close-ups with wildlife presenter Nick Wadham from Thursday 16 to 19 August.

Designed specifically for young families to enjoy together, parents and children alike will be taken on fantastic journeys of discovery, learning through captivating performances and hands-on experiences about dinosaurs, puppetry, the circus and nature all in the wonderful surroundings of the Discovery Centre. ” said Fahim Qureshi, Head of Arts & Cultural Programmes of Luton Culture. “We cannot wait to welcome both regular and new visitors to the centre for this fantastic summer season.”

A weekend of Dinosaur discovery, with a storytelling performance by Mike Dodsworth followed by dinosaur arts & crafts and an amazing dinosaur show from Los Kaos.

Discover Puppetry

Thu 2 – Sun 5 Aug, various times

Be captivated by a spellbinding, interactive puppetry performance from a pair of wonderful wanderers, followed by a fireside tale from Granddad and some puppet-making fun.

Discover the Circus

Thu 9 – Sun 12 Aug, various times

Be wowed by a unique magic show from Professor Strange, before making your own juggling balls and learning how to use them in our jam-packed circus skills workshop.

Set off on a bug-tastic adventure this weekend! Learn all about insects and how important they are to us, before getting creative in a craft workshop.
