Dunstable High Street Renewal Project Continues
Dunstable High Street Renewal Project Continues
Contractors working for Central Bedfordshire Council are set to shortly start work on the next two phases of the renewal of Dunstable’s High Street.
Up until now a lot of the work has taken place behind the scenes, or under the ground as the council put in a variety of measures for flood protection as the area was badly hit in June 2016.
The now considerably broader pavements will be paved with honey-coloured ‘Saxon’ paving, the existing planters will be re-clad and new benches and other street furniture installed along with new signage and street markings.
The works are made possible thanks to funding support from the South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership with an allocation from the Local Growth Fund.
See details of the work being carried out and before and after images below.
