On 17th December, between 12 noon and 3pm, a Luton based community project will be in The Mall’s Atrium, with the aim of sharing hope and encouraging you to pay it forward this Christmas.

The Christmas Hope Project will aim to provide a space for people to be greeted by a friendly face, whilst being gifted inspirational cards and bottles of water as a reminder that they are not alone… and everyone is invited to attend.

Supporting people to stay hopeful…

Christmas is supposed to be the best part of the year, sold as warm and loving. It’s a time to be with family, friends and loved ones. It is about coming together and sharing moments, giving and receiving gifts, eating, drinking, playing and celebrating.

‘The Christmas holiday is so close to the end of the year. It can be a great time to reflect on all of the great things you have achieved throughout the last 12 months and to begin thinking about what you want to achieve for the next.’ Careen Hanson

Unfortunately, too often, those who do not have access to the most basic of needs; food, water, kindness, family or friendship, are forgotten at a time when many are distracted with the joy of the season. The Christmas Hope Project wants to be a temporary hub for those in the community who need reminding that they matter and that someone is thinking of them even when they feel most alone.

‘Offering hope to those who may need support at this time of year is imperative to the health of our community. No matter how bad a year you may have had, a kind word or unexpected smile can make a difference.’ Shae Eccleston

The Christmas Hope Project want to to spread some Christmas well-wishes online too!  They have produced a selection of hope tokens which they are encouraging everyone to share on social media.

You can download the tokens below (right click and save) or from the Christmas Hope Project Website.

Everyone is invited to get involved! so make a difference this Christmas,  join in, share hope and pay it forward.
