The wait is finally over as GCSE pupils across Bedfordshire picked up their results today (Thursday, 23rd August).
Central Bedfordshire schools’ results remain stable which is in line with the emerging national trend. Provisional results show that 65% of pupils achieved a pass in English and Maths (4-9 grade).
41% of pupils achieved a ‘strong pass’ in English and Maths (5-9 grade).
The overall Attainment 8 score for Central Bedfordshire is 45.3.
All Saints Academy, Harlington Upper School, Priory Academy, Sandy Secondary School and Vandyke Academy all celebrate their best ever GCSE results.
We can report on some outstanding personal achievements for example a Queensbury Academy pupil Brandon Pratt, gained seven 9s, one 8 and an A* and Klaudia Sokolowska from Priory Academy achieved seven 9s, three 8s, one A* and three As.
Councillor Steven Dixon, Executive Member for Families, Education and Children, said: “My congratulations to the more than 2,000 pupils who have received their long-awaited results today. I would also like to thank their families, teachers and school governors for supporting them in these achievements and would like to take this opportunity to wish them all the best for their ongoing studies.”
